ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the influence of the teaching model based on the synergy of medical education on the objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) scores and critical thinking ability of interns in emergency department. Methods:A total of 84 students who studied as interns in Emergency Department of our hospital from January 2020 to 2021 were selected as research subjects, and they were divided into observation group and control group using a random number table, with 42 students in each group. The students in the control group were taught using traditional methods, while those in the observation group were taught based on the synergy of medical education. Both groups received an OSCE examination, and the two groups were compared in terms of OSCE score, critical thinking ability, and evaluation of teaching. SPSS 22.0 was used to perform the t-test and the chi-square test. Results:Compared with the control group, the observation group had significantly higher scores of theoretical assessment, disease assessment, first aid measures, special skills, use of medical instruments, communication skills with SP, and medical record writing and a significantly higher total score of OSCE assessment ( P<0.05). After teaching, both groups had a significant increase in the score of critical thinking ability, and the observation group had a significantly higher score than the control group [(306.38±25.76) vs. (280.39±20.17)]. The observation group had a significantly higher degree of satisfaction with teaching than the control group ( P<0.05). Conclusion:The teaching model based on the synergy of medical education can improve the OSCE score of interns in emergency department and cultivate their critical thinking ability, and there is a relatively high degree of satisfaction with this teaching model.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect and feasibility of problem-based learning teaching model in case discussion and its influence on the cultivation of medical students' practical ability in primary hospitals under the guidance of the synergy of medical education. Methods Interns from this hospital of the year 2017 were chosen as subjects. Those who were organized by science and teaching department with PBL model in case discussion were observation group, while those who were organized in traditional case discussion by clinical departments were control group. Questionnaires were filled in and effects between two groups were compared. Results In both the cognitive and affective domain, PBL teaching group scored higher compared with traditional teaching group (P=0.000). Conclusion Under the current situation, carry-ing out PBL teaching model has certain feasibility and practical significance in primary hospitals and is more suitable for the development of medical cooperation between colleges and hospitals.

ABSTRACT

Under the background of"medical education synergy", there are still some problems such as the poor treatment of graduate students, mismatching of between the master's degree point and standard-ized training base for resident, weakening of tutor guidance, and the lack of corresponding resident training bases of some secondary disciplines. Starting from the actual work experience, through the expansion of the coverage of resident training funds, integration of the resident training base with master's degree point in medical institutions, the establishment of tutor groups, and strengthening the cultivation of students' innova-tion and research ability, our hospital has improved the shortcomings of the current training work in many directions to improve the postgraduate education system of master degree in clinical medicine.
